FAQ

A few things you might be wondering.

Is Dough Maker only for pizza?

No. Use it for bread, pizza, and other dough formulas based on baker’s percentages.

Do I need an account?

No Dough Maker account is required. Recipes and settings are stored locally. Optional iCloud Backup on iOS uses your Apple iCloud account.

What can I do on the web?

Use the free calculator and Bake view. The free web version includes preferments and split flour calculations, but does not save recipes. Get the iOS app for the recipe library and optional Pro features.

What does Pro add?

Pro adds advanced precision, preferments, split flour blends, and other advanced controls. On iOS it also includes iCloud Backup. See the Pro screen in the app for current purchase options.

Does iCloud Backup sync every edit between devices?

No. It backs up saved recipes and settings to a file in iCloud Drive. Restore is an explicit action. The current unsaved calculation is not included.

How can I keep a copy of my recipes?

On iOS, use Manage Data in Settings to export your recipes. Pro users can also configure iCloud Backup there. Keep exported files somewhere you can find them again.

Will the calculator tell me exactly when my dough is ready?

No. Ingredient weights are a formula, not a fermentation schedule. Time, temperature, flour, and yeast activity affect your dough; follow your recipe and observe how it develops.
